Faith Based Giving

Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry. The work of Habitat for Humanity is driven by the desire to give tangible expression to God’s love through the work of eliminating poverty housing.

Habitat for Humanity was founded as a Christian housing ministry and is based on the desire to give tangible expression to the love of God through the work of eliminating poverty housing. Our organization provides an opportunity for people to put their faith and love into action in the Mohawk Valley. We welcome all who desire to be a part of this work, regardless of race or religion, bringing diverse groups of people together to build homes, community & hope.

Habitat for Humanity partners with individuals of all faiths, or no faith. Our ministry provides an opportunity for people to put their faith and love into action and to bring diverse groups or people together to build homes and community.

Habitat is a partnership founded on common ground – bridging theological differences by putting love into action. Everyone can use a hammer as an instrument to manifest God’s love. While we may disagree on many issues, we can agree on the idea of building homes with God’s people in need. As we focus on working together to build a house, we realize that our similarities become more important than our differences.

As a commitment to our Christian roots, all Habitat affiliates tithe a portion of their unrestricted funding to help Habitat for Humanity International bring an end to poverty housing worldwide.
